Do I need flexible dates?

Isn't this just Google Flights?
Google Flights is one of the four searches the course teaches, click by click. It finds a fare. It doesn't tell you which dial to turn, what the True Total is once bags and seats are in, which "five-star" is really a three-star, or how to rebook your hotel when the price drops. That's the method.
Don't cheap flights mean awful airlines and three stops?
Not the Travel Rich way. The goal isn't the cheapest fare. It's the cheapest good trip. You set your own rules (direct only, the airports you'll use, the length you want) and compare the True Total, not the headline price. A fare that needs three stops and two bag fees usually loses.
Five-star hotels aren't really for people like me.
That's the most common thing people say, and it's the one the numbers argue with. In some cities the average five-star costs about what a three-star costs in Western Europe or the US. You're not buying status. You're reading a price table, and picking the city and the month where the room you want fits.
Is this about points and credit cards?
No. There's no card to open and no points to collect. The method works with the money you'd spend anyway, from your own airport, in any currency.
Does it work from my airport?
Yes. The searches work from any airport in the world. Examples are in US dollars, and where a rule depends on the country (like the US 24-hour rule or EU and UK flight delay rights), the course says so and links the official source.
